Threat to kill Prime Minister: BNP leader Chand in Faridpur court

Rajshahi’s BNP leader Abu Saeed Chand was brought to court in a case filed by Faridpur district Awami League president Shamim Haque for threatening to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He was produced in court under police guard around 11:00 on Tuesday (June 6). At that time, the plaintiff in the court case Shamim Haque, the witness District Awami League General Secretary Shah Md. Awami League leaders and activists including Ishtiaq Arif were present. It is known that on Tuesday morning, the leaders and activists of Awami League as well as affiliated organizations started gathering in the court premises in groups. Later, around 10:20 am, an effigy of Chand was brought to the court premises. BNP leader Abu Saeed was brought from Faridpur District Jail to the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Tarun Bachar in a police van guarded by a police car. Later he was again taken to the district jail under police guard. Zahid Bepari, the lawyer for the plaintiff in this case, said that BNP leader Abu Saeed Chand was shown under arrest on Tuesday. The hearing of this case will be held later. It is to be noted that Chand threatened to send Sheikh Hasina to the grave in a program of BNP in Rajshahi on May 19. His statement went viral on social media. Awami League leaders were outraged over the issue. After that, cases were filed against Chand in different districts.
