BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep concern over the fact that Motijheel police station has shown a silent arrest in an old case after Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Member Secretary Rafiqul Alam Majnu has been granted bail in all cases.
On Monday (June 5), the BNP Secretary General condemned the statement signed by Taiful Islam Tipu, the joint office secretary of the party.
Mirza Fakhrul said that Rafiqul Alam Majnu has been given a silent arrest in the pending case, which is completely illegal, even though there is a directive from the High Court not to arrest him without specific charges. In order to destroy the leadership of the protesting BNP, the illegal and divisive anti-people government is arresting the leaders and activists of the BNP and its organizations on false charges and sending them to jail without any reason. He continued to be re-arrested in Jailgate after getting bail from the court.
“The government has continued to persecute the opposition in a fascist style to thwart the opposition movement and to instill fear among the opposition leaders and activists. Ignoring all the repressions of the illegal government, the BNP leaders and activists will bravely continue the fight against misrule, taking the people with them.
BNP Secretary General said, Rafiqul Alam Majnu is a proven leader of Rajpath. The government is harassing him in various ways to instill fear in his mind. He will defy all the repressions of the illegal government and lead from the front lines in the movement to get the people out of jail through legal process and restore the right to vote.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir demanded immediate withdrawal of all the false cases filed against Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Member Secretary Rafiqul Alam Majnu and his unconditional release.
In another statement, Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Convenor Abdus Salam strongly condemned and protested against the fact that Majnu was arrested despite bail in all cases. He immediately demanded withdrawal of all false cases and unconditional release of Majnoor.
