Govt working sincerely to uphold spirit of Islam: Shameem
SHARIATPUR, Feb 10, 2023 (BSS) – Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem today said the government is working sincerely to uphold the spirit of Islam.
He said while inaugurating a mosque at Anandabazar Purba Malat Kandi area of Sakhipur in the district, said a press release.
Shameem said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had founded Islamic Foundation for promoting Islamic spirit and culture.
Following the footprints of Bangabandhu, his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working to spread the spirit of Islam, he said.
She already has set an example by recognizing Qawmi madrasah education in the country, the deputy minister said.
Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa Bin Youssef Al-Dahilan, Chattogram-15 constituency lawmaker and Allama Fazlullah Foundation Bangladesh Chairman Prof Abu Reza Mohammad Nizamuddin, Begum Ashrafunnesa Foundation Chairman Engineer Abul Hasan Paik, Bhedarganj Upazila Chairman Humayun Kabir Mollah and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mamun were present as the special guests.
Issa Bin Youssef Al-Dahilan said the Saudi government always stayed beside Bangladesh as a true friend and will do so in the coming days too.
After the inauguration, 60 copies of the Holy Quran with Bangla translation were given to the mosque for devotees on behalf of the Saudi ambassador.
