DMP arrests 52 for consuming, selling drugs in city
DHAKA, Feb 10, 2023 (BSS) – The members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several anti-drug raids arrested a total of 52 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during last 24 hours till 6 am today.
According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted the operations against the drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations of the metropolis. They also detained a total of 52 drug traffickers and recovered huge drugs from their possessions from 6 am of February 9 to 6 am today.
During the anti-drug drives, police seized 9.300 kilograms of cannabis (ganja), 400.1 grams of and 50 puria (small packets) heroin, 3,513 pieces of contra banned yaba tablets and 122 bottles of phensidyle syrup from their possessions, it said.
Police filed 42 cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
