The much-hyped and most talked about bill ensuring land belongs to the person who has the proper documentation will be placed in the next session of parliament.

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury made the announcement in parliament today while talking on Haat and Bazar (establish and management) Bill, 2023.

He said the phrase “Dolil Jaar, Jomi Taar” (land belongs to the person who has the deed) has become viral and people have shown utmost interest in it.

“They are eagerly waiting for this law. They want to know when the law will be passed,” he said.

The minister said he wanted to table the bill in parliament in the running session, but could not due to time constraints.

“We have to talk to stakeholders. I will take the bill to the Cabinet. From there, it will be vetted in the law ministry. I hope to bring it in the next parliamentary session.”
